Gentrification Studio
The Gentrification Studio is a two-day training event developed in collaboration with a cohort of local church planters, pastors, and urban ministry leaders to explore the rapid changes occurring in and around downtown Tucson and how the church can better understand and engage this new context.
The Studio explores the gentrification process; what shaped it and how it is being played out, in order to help pastors, church planters, church leaders, and Christians living in the city know how to navigate these rough waters in order to effectively practice and proclaim the Gospel in a way that resonates with the various socio-economic classes and ethnicities in the midst of this urban upheaval. The goal is not to bifurcate the church in the urban core, but to be the church and plant churches for hipsters and non-hipsters alike.
