About the artists:

Winner of the 2022 Che Bandoneon International Competition held in Stowe, Vermont, Leonel Gasso is a composer, bandoneonist, arranger, and singer from Montevideo, Uruguay. At the age of 14, Leonel joined the orchestra of his father, Cono Ricardo Gasso, and has since traveled widely to countries in Asia and Europe, including Germany, France, South Korea, Japan, Scotland, Thailand, and Italy, among others.

Keiko Cadby has played in many venues worldwide over the last 25 years, recorded with international artists, and contributed to film soundtracks and TV commercials. Thanks to Antonio Lysy, she was first introduced to tango at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and has enjoyed Golden Age and Nuevo Tango for more than a decade. She plays with Orquesta Típica Domo, TangoLuna, and Los Angeles del Tango.

Born in Hong Kong, Crystie Shum began piano lessons at four. In 2017 she fell in love with Argentine tango and has been studying and playing it ever since. She plays piano, sings, and arranges for the Orquesta Típica Domo and TangoLuna. She has also performed with Maxi Larrea, Alex Roitman, and Hugo Satorre. Besides music, she is a social worker with two dogs and a parrot.

Chris Johnson studied classical double bass at Cal State Northridge and later at The Boston Conservatory. He played with many orchestral and chamber music groups in Los Angeles, Mexico, and Boston. In 2009, Mr. Johnson moved to Buenos Aires to study tango bass with Juan Pablo Navarro. In the Bay Area, he plays with Seth Asarnow y su sexteto típico and continues to explore musical possibilities across genres.
