Weavers Way Out Valentine's Day Pop Up Dinner
No need to sit still Squaresville this Valentine's Day, Cats and Kittens. Weavers Way is going WAY OUT on Friday, February 14 at the former site of Umbria, at 7131 Germantown Ave. in downtown Mt. Airy.
Co-op staff are pooling all of their exemplary culinary, food service and otherwise creative talent to open a one-night-only sit-down, full service, pop-up restaurant.
The former Umbria, the forty-seat BYOB, will be transformed into Weavers Way Out Café, which will offer a four-course prix fixe menu at $80 per person from 5 to 8 p.m (advanced reservations required). From 8 to 10 p.m., formal dining will give way to a relaxed, Beat-themed cafe with open seating, an a la carte menu and live music.
Weavers Way Executive Chef Bonnie Shuman will prepare a tantalizing menu featuring soup, salad and entrée courses. WW Marketing Director (and former Pastry Chef) Rebecca Torpie is conjuring up a goodie tray of sweet bites for dessert. Outreach Coordinator Bettina de Caumette will serve as the evening's Front of House Manager and Host. And a colorful crew of your cashiers will make it the ginchiest scene in town
The grooviest part? Net proceeds will go to Weavers Way Community Programs. Gratuties at the table are also welcome and will be tax deductible. Bring your own juice, Daddy-O. Dinner is BYOB.
