"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," Porchlight Players' 4th annual Valentine's Day Dinner Theater event. Based on the 1988 film of the same name starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, it is the story of two men competing to swindle an American heiress out of $50,000. Lawrence Jamieson is a cultivated and suave British con artist who operates in the French Riviera. His signature con is seducing wealthy and morally suspect women and stealing their money. His only concern is a mysterious, anonymous con artist known only as "The Jackal" who has been preying on other wealthy victims of late. When small-time American hustler Freddy Benson decides to search for easy marks in Beaumont-sur-Mer, Lawrence's home base, Lawrence believes that the Jackal has shown his face. Lawrence believes that there is not enough room in Beaumont-sur-Mer for both of them, so a bet is proposed to decide who stays. The first to con $50,000 out of a selected mark will be allowed to stay, while the other must leave town and never return. Who will stay, who will go, and who is really swindling whom? With music and lyrics by David Yazbek ('The Full Monty") and a book by Jeffrey Lane, this foot-tapping musical is sure to keep you laughing and guessing from start to finish.
Your ticket includes dinner catered by HP Provisions and Catering of Eagle Ranch (your choice of three entrees~meat, seafood or vegetarian, TBA), dessert tray served at your table, three drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks), complimentary coffee and tea service, and the show for $50. Doors open at 5:45pm; dinner service starts at 6:00pm. Curtain at 7:00pm, with dessert and coffee or tea served at intermission. Tickets must be purchased in advance through our website at least 24 hours in advance.
