Learn how to care for days-old chicks, successfully raising them to be healthy, productive additions to your urban farm. Experienced instructors will cover requirements for feed, space, heat, supplements, nesting, protection and more for the various stages of chicken life, with a special focus on care for the very young. Items you will need to raise chicks are available for purchase before and after the class at our SFC warehouse.
This class is available on THREE different dates with three different instructors. (Roughly the same material will be presented each class.)

Instructor: Christy Cusick Date: Saturday, March 8, 11:00 a.m. - noon
Instructor: Maya Beal Date: Wednesday, March 12, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Location for all classes: Seattle Farm Co-op Cost: Free Max Size: 15
This class is required (or a similar one through Seattle Tilth) for anyone new to chicken raising and wanting to buy chicks at our Annual Chicks Sale -- March 15th.
