A small Kansas town is turned upside down with the arrival of a charming young drifter named Hal. His youthful exuberance ignites the passions and jealousies of a group of women who are preparing for a late summer picnic. And when Hal whisks the vibrant and beautiful Madge away from her boyfriend and family, all of their lives are forever changed in one fateful night.
