Introduction to Drawing - the 9-Box Method with Mike & Stacie Gelhar:
Introduction to the technique used to derive nine values from a graphite pencil. This a basic technique that can be mastered with a standard #2 pencil and paper, then applied to additional mediums.
Biography
Mike Gelhar graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2000 with a graphic arts degree and a fine arts minor. Mike has recently returned to graphite pencil drawing, after raising two daughters. He lives in Oshkosh and works as a digitizer in 4imprints embroidery department. You can find examples of his art on Instagram at @mgelhar_art.
Stacie Gelhar is an artist in recovery. Her artistic journey started with adult coloring books and a desire to figure out how to make pictures like the ones found on social media. She works at Plexus Corp. as a business systems analyst and spends most of her lunch breaks sketching. Stacie posts on Instagram as @staciegelhar.
