The Wind in the Willows
The Walpole Players will be performing Alan Bennetts adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's classic novel THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS. Today, more than thirty years since it was first produced Londons National Theatre, Alan Bennett's stage adaptation of The Wind in the Willows has become a classic in its own right, with the enduring appeal of Kenneth Grahame's riverside characters: sweet, provincial Mole; urbane and Oxbridge-educated Ratty; Badger, a gruff member of the establishment who doesn't like to be disturbed; and Toad, entitled and carefree but a bit on the wicked side. The music adds a folksy flavor, which makes this production feel truly like a Northumbrian riverbank.
