Anatomy and Massage Series
As movers it is essential that we understand our bodies. A race car driver studies the engineering, physics, and mechanics of their vehicle because they rely on it for their safety and livelihood. Our bodies are our machines and by learning the basics of anatomy and physiology we can make intelligent decisions that preserve our health and improve our performance.
This 4-part series will meet for 3 hours on 4 separate Sunday evenings. We will cover (order not yet decided):
*Wrists, Forearms, and Elbows *Legs with focus on knees and major muscle groups *Cervical spine (how to give a REAL neck rub!) *Hips and low back
We will cover: *Muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue *Biomechanics *Massage techniques for relieving common pains
DATES: 1/12 1/19 1/26 2/9
6:30-9:30pm
About me: I have trained in bodywork specializing in deep tissue modalities and have sought out advanced training in anatomy and physiology (if you've been in my classes you know I love the science!). I am also an instructor and student of hand balancing, partner acrobatics, and general circus. Movement is my passion, and bringing the scientific understanding of human anatomy into our world of movement has become a personal mission.
Cost: $40 per workshop with a break if you attend the whole series.
