The ANSI/AIHA Z10 standard establishes the building blocks for an operationally efficient occupational health and safety management system. The recently updated standard addresses the need to integrate occupational health and safety practices into business processes, allowing organizations to effectively manage their occupational health and safety (OH&S) operations as an integral portion of their business model. The ANSI/AIHA Z10 standard includes seven sections that guide effective OH&S system planning and implementation: scope, purpose and applications; definitions; management leadership and employee participation; planning; implementation and operation; evaluation and corrective action; and management review. This webinar series will cover all the key changes and provide real life practical guidance.

Presenter Bios
John Bennett is the Vice President of Safety and Risk Management for M. C. Dean, the largest independent electrical, design-build contractor and systems integrator for critical mission clients in the United States. Mr. Bennett has a B. A. degree from Bethel College in Organizational Management. He has been in the occupational safety and health profession for over 40 years. Mr. Bennett has both domestic and international experience in the heavy construction and raw material manufacturing industries. His expertise includes occupational safety and health management systems, including OSHA/VPP, ANSI Z10 and extensive experience helping organizations create safe, productive work cultures. Recently, Mr. Bennett represented the United States as a delegate to China to exchange safe work practices with the Chinese government. Mr. Bennett is a current member of the ANSI Z10 Occupational Health and Safety Accredited Standards Committee, and a member of the ANSI Z490 Risk Management Technical Advisory Group.
James Howe, CSP, is currently the president of Safety Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in machinery and equipment risk assessment, health and safety management system improvement, accident investigation and regulatory compliance. Jim retired from the United Auto Workers Union after 20 years, where he was the Assistant Director of the Health and Safety Department. Jim has conducted more than 300 plant inspections and more than 85 fatality inspections. Jim has been a member of a number of ANSI committees related to machinery safeguarding, lockout, robot safety and risk assessment. In addition, Jim is the chair of the ANSI/AIHA Z10, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System standard. Jim was selected as the Safety Professional of the Year for the State of Michigan in 1997. .
