Jeff Gao exhibition titled "Essence of the Wild" is based upon the combination of observations and memories from the Western Canyons. The work focuses on mountain ranges and rivers with the drama of light, merging Eastern and Western aesthetic development. Using organic shapes, radiant colors, contouring textures, and atmospheric lighting, Jeff states, "my paintings act as an extension of the soul and the natural world that surrounds us.
Jeremy Lampe an instructor at Third Degree Glass Factory creates glass sculptures as an investigation of traditional forms and techniques with a non traditional approach. The Asperis (bumpy) murrine pieces are taking a traditional technique which is usually just a visual texture and applying them in a way that adds a tactile surface as well. With the Annulos (rings, holey) vases, they are solid sculpted glass forms shaped like a vase which would normally have been blown on a blowpipe. A different approach to a traditional technique to see what changes come about."
