ELECTRIC JESUS Film Screening + Concert
Audio Feed 2021 headliners Danielson Famile and Three Sick Teens bring their ELECTRIC JESUS road show to Uptown's Wilson Abbey, September 4.

First, at 2:30 PM, a Special Event Screening of 1091 Picture's coming-of-age rock-and-roll comedy ELECTRIC JESUS, which follows the ill-fated exploits of a religious hair metal band during the summer of 1986.

ELECTRIC JESUS stars The Office's Brian Baumgartner as the band's woebegone road manager, 80s teen icon Judd Nelson as a firebrand preacher, and newcomers Andrew Eakle, Shannon Hutchinson, and Wyatt Lenhart as devout teens determined to "make Jesus famous."

ELECTRIC JESUS has been making waves in the U.S. film festival circuit, winning numerous awards and converting hundreds of devotees. It is a stunning breakout from writer-director Chris White, who co-produced the film with his wife Emily Reach White and co-wrote the film's original songs with alt-rock musician Daniel Smith.

Mining his own experiences as an Evangelical teenager, White pushes past the hoary cliches of both music and faith-based genres, delivering a film that resists sentimentality, preferring to lean hard into the awkward, strange , and sometimes wonderful world of youthful devotion to cause.

CAST AND CREW WILL ATTEND this event and offer a live Q&A session immediately following the 2:30 screening hosted by John J. Thompson of True Tunes. CONFIRMED: Cast - Claire Bronson, Andrew Eakle, Caleb Hoffmann, Shannon Hutchinson, Wyatt Lenhart, Grayson Reith, Gunner Willis. Crew - Daniel Smith, John J. Thompson, Chris White, Emily Reach White.

Then, at 6:30 PM, a concert event for the ages! Danielson Famile returns in full force to Chicago with their largest set-list yet: old favorites, new classics, and music from ELECTRIC JESUS, for which founder Daniel Smith composed, arranged, and produced the score.

AND and first-ever (and quite possibly last-ever) live performance from the ELECTRIC JESUS studio band Three Sick Teens -- with lead vocals by stars Wyatt Lenhart and Shannon Hutchinson, and lead guitar by John Montgomery.
