Make-Up for Belly Dancers - Workshop with Rosa Noreen
Learn to apply stage-friendly make-up for belly dance! Basic application techniques are taught--so don't worry if you've never touched an eye pencil before.

After getting comfortable with the basics, we explore various exciting, belly dancer-ly embellishments.

Students learn to comfortably apply eyeliner, use different shades of shadow to add contour & mystery to your eyes, color your lips without "bleeding", refine your performance face--and embellish upon all of these techniques.

This is a BYOM workshop--Bring Your Own Make-up!

A detailed list of supplies and brand recommendations will be provided once you register, along with the exact address of the workshop location.

Here's an overview of what you'll need to bring:
- Eyelid primer (Makes it so your make-up stays put, very important. I prefer Urban Decay's primer. Too-Faced and Smashbox brands are also very good.)
- High-pigment eye shadow in at least two different shades, dark and light (Except for L'Oreal's HIP line, drug store brands DON'T cut it. Neither does Sephora brand. I love the palettes from Urban Decay, Too Faced, Smashbox, or MAC. High-pigment shadow is key to a good stage look.)
- White eye shadow for brow and side highlights (most drug store brands are OK for this)
- A fairly soft pencil eyeliner (MAC or Too-Faced are my favorites but sometimes Revlon has a good one, too! Soft is key.)
- Mascara (I like Maybelline Full 'n' Soft the best. Don't get the Maybelline kind in the pink and green tube, though--it runs like crazy. Expensive mascara is NOT necessary.)
- Eyelash curler (optional but HIGHLY recommended--does wonders in an instant!)
- Brow pencil (eyeliner just slightly darker than your eyebrows will also do! Drugstore brands are OK.)
- Blush (two-tone is best--the darker one can often be used for contouring) and big poofy brush
- Lip liner pencil (Lip primer is optional, but lip pencil is essential. Drug store brands are OK. My current lip liner is from The Body Shop.)
- Lipstick
- Foundation & concealer
- Glitter is optional but fun!

NOT covered in this workshop:
- False eyelashes
- Brushes (Except for blush brush. Finger application techniques will be taught for eye shadow.)
