PoMo ArtsFest - Steps on the Road of World Cultures followed by Festival Wrap Reception
Silk Road Music, a Vancouver based world music ensemble, provides a fitting finale to ArtsFest with an acoustic tapestry of charismatic intimacy and playfulness. This award-winning ensemble pioneered Chinese-Western musical fusion and continues to be at the forefront of new artistic directions. For PoMo ArtsFest Silk Road Music spins a world tapestry of music and dance teamed with world renowned modern dancer Wen Wei Wang.
Wen Wei is a prolific and award-winning choreographer whose cross-cultural work draws on his Chinese heritage. His innovative and passionate style combines fierce physicality, musicality and a poetic attention to line and emotion.
