PoMo ArtsFest - Percussionworks!
Students of the music schools at Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Trinity Western University, under the leadership of Robert Caldwell, will perform a variety of musical styles, with a repertoire ranging from world drumming to contemporary percussion music showcasing a diverse range of percussion instruments as they present an afternoon of drumming and world rhythms.
Boris Sichon was born in the Ukraine and pursued his musical education at the Academy of Music in St. Petersburg. His career has spanned years of performance, including time with the Jewish chamber musical theatre in Moscow, Russian National Folkloric Band, Footsbarn Travelling Theatre in France, Habima National Theatre in Jerusalem. He is the owner of a unique collection of over 200 rare and unique ethnic musical instruments he has compiled travelling the globe. Boris is a magnetic world-music performer who captivates audience members of all ages.
