The Pillowman
Spartan Theatre Company is proud to present the final show of its 2013 season, Martin McDonagh's harrowing and darkly comic masterpiece "The Pillowman." Artistic Director Patrick Belics directs, featuring Spartan favorites such as Joseph Galizia, Cody Nicoletti and Robert Alan. Also joining the cast are Chicago notables Matthew Gall (known for his work at ShawChicago, Citadel Theatre, Fury Theatre, Corn Productions, and Rare Terra Theatre as well as many other Chicago mainstays,) Phil Cerza (hot off of his turn as Elvis Presley in this year's Chicago Fringe Festival hit "Caged In") and Alex Seligsohn (of Waltzing Mechanic's "El Stories".) During an unspecified time, in a totalitarian government, a young writer is forced into interrogation over the gruesome content of his short stories. In a night of confusion and revelations, the young writer and the policemen examine the very nature and purpose of his art and how it affects the lives of others and his own.
The production will take place at The Den Theatre, located at 1333 N Milwaukee Ave. Performances occur December 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th at 7:30 PM and December 8th and 15th at 3:00 PM.
