Ex Somnium Workshop - Performance Installation & Creation Methods

FREE TO THE PUBLIC: 3 hour long workshop culminating in a street performance in Little 5 Points for those who wish to participate after the workshop.
This class will play with methods of creation for performance installations, utilizing movement, tableau vivant, object theatre, as well as music and movement under the guidance and instruction of Timothy A. Hand. Our central theme and subject matter for this class will be "Ahimsa," the Buddhist, Hindu, and Jainist principal of doing no harm. For all levels
Timothy A. Hand is an actor, puppeteer, devisor, and director in Atlanta and is the artistic director and founder of Ex Somnium, as well as a founding member of The Object Group. He has also worked with companies and institutions such as The High Museum, Poncili Creacion, The Lucky Penny Dance Company, Art on the Atlanta Beltline, Wee Giant Puppets, among others. Although he is influenced by many forms of media, his chief interests lie in non-narrative performance installations, site specific works, and immersive theatre, similar to that of Punch Drunk Theatre in New York.
