Chinese Gala 2013 - A Yunnan Wedding
Ah-Lan Dance is going to present "A Chinese Gala 2013" on November 23rd and 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the El Cerrito High School Theater. Last year's Gala, featured a dance drama "The Silk Road"(http://ahlandance.com/photo-galleries/2012-gallery/), which was very well received by the sold-out audiences. By popular demand, this year's Gala is once again going to feature a dance drama. Ah-Lan Dance is presenting "A Yunnan Wedding", through which the audience will explore the history and ethnic diversity of China's Yunnan province. Yunnan is a very special province that has 26 different ethnic minorities that all have their own dance styles. This will be a celebration of the special instruments, music, songs and colorful costumes of Yunnan. The Gala will also showcase original ballet choreography and Chinese dance from many regions of China. There will be an appearance from the winner of the Bay Area American Chinese Cultural Art Association's Qipao contest. Come enjoy a magical afternoon of Chinese dance and ballet!
Ah-Lan Dance is the premier Chinese dance studio in the East Bay. Ah-Lan has been teaching Chinese dance in Albany and El Cerrito for 15 years. With a brand new studio of the way, Ah-Lan Dance offers two types of classes: Chinese Performance Division classes and Drop-In Fitness & Dance classes.
