The Winter Winds of Warp
As a warming antidote to the advent of the damp, dark season in Seattle, "The Winter Winds of WARP", explores the foibles of human nature in their infinitely strange permutations, from the mundane through the magical. This selection of a dozen original short plays, skits, and performance pieces by local authors will definitely make you laugh. It may pull at your heartstrings, and it might even make you think. Who can resist the charm of singing trolls under a famous bridge, pompous academics behaving badly, troupes of mimes and commedia dell'arte characters prancing across the stage, the eternal dating scene gone wrong, the existential plight of the chicken who must forever cross the road, and much, much more?
The show features the work of Seattle writers Scot Bastian, Patty Carlson, Stephen Clark, Ellen Covey, Josie De Lellis, Bryan Harthorne, Jeremy January, Dale Kazdan, John Ruoff, Donna Van Norman, Troupe Comique, and a debut work by Monty Saasen.
Evening performances are at 8:00 on November 1, 2, 8, and 9, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 on November 10at the Seattle Center Armory Building (aka Center House), TPS Theater 4 on the 4th floor. Running time is approximately 90 minutes with a short intermission.
WARP (Writers and Actors Reading and Performing) has been a Seattle community theater gem since 2006, promoting the original work of local playwrights and actors.
