One hundred years ago, Washington recognized the central place of adjudication in its government and dedicated the Temple of Justice to that purpose. Join us as we reflect on why art-in-architecture is a facet of contemporary building and why images of justice have for centuries been used to represent the aspirations for judges and courts.
Professors Judith Resnik and Dennis Curtis, Yale Law School, authors of Representing Justice: Invention, Controversy, and Rights in City-States and Democratic Courtrooms (Yale Univ. Press 2011) will be the Keynote speakers for this Washington Courts Historical Society event.
Representing Justice, signed by the authors, will also be available for sale.
NOTE: Space for this event is limited.
