Leo Mac Namara and Friends Concert Recording
Leo Mac Namara hails from Scariff, Co. Clare and for the last fifteen years has lived in Seattle, Washington. He began tin whistle aged five and flute at eight, greatly encouraged by his father Martin. He grew up learning from and playing with such great musicians as P.J. Hayes, Paddy Canny, Martin Rochford, Martin Woods, Martin Hayes and Christy Barry. His expert playing blends the East Clare style with Sligo/Roscommon flute techniques and Leo has played in the masters of tradition festival in Ireland, and across the US.
Dublin, Ireland-born multi-instrumentalist Colm MacCárthaigh writes tunes and songs, sings (in English and Irish) and performs a distinctive blend of driving accompaniment and melody. Colm has played Irish Music in venues as varied as Ireland's National Concert Hall, lazy cafés in Amsterdam's Jordaan or the main stage at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann at two in the morning.
