Jared Martin started in music when he learned piano at age eight. While taking piano he learned how to read music and sight read. Jared Martin attended Filipino classes locally and performed Filipino tradional songs at the Filipino American Cultural Enrichment School (F.A.C.E.S).  Some of the cultural songs he learned were "Bahay Kubo," as well as "Lupang Hinirang".  In middle school, he sang in The Little Blue Singing Crew until eighth grade. While in high school, Jared Martin played and competed trombone in concert band and jazz rock ensemble. For his High School Pep Band, he also played for all the football games, as well as sang the National Anthem of The U.S. Jared Martin also performed and competed in choruses called The Big Blue Singing Crew, jazz and classical choirs. Jared also won a maestro award in competition for his solo in " Shenandoah." While in high school, Jared Martin also took individual voice lessons and performed numerous solos in concert. In grade school, as well as high school, he performed in many high school musicals and plays. Jared Martin was also very involved with community theater throughout high school. During his senior year, Jared Martin was chosen to sing in the New Jersey State Honors Jazz Choir. Jared Martin auditioned at The University of The Arts and was accepted to the Vocal Performance program with The Presidential Scholarship.
Jared Martin has maintained deans list since freshman year. He has sung in five to six ensembles every semester, and he has also been chosen by his professors to become a tutor for his fellow classmates. Jared had the opportunity to master many new instruments by having a Minor in Music Education. In his first two years of college, Jared had the opportunity to study under the internationally known Jazz extraordinaire, Justin Binek. Jared currently studies under the world renowned Tenor, Paul Spencer Adkins.
Jared Martin has performed in a benefit concert with Gabby Concepcion. He performed in a benefit concert with Celine Lambino and the legendary Bert Nievera. He also had the privilege to perform with Grammy Award winning conductor/pianist Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at the Cape May Convention Center.
Jared Martin has cantored in local churches and is currently cantoring at  St. Peter The Apostle Church in Philadelphia. He has volunteered to perform in many nursing homes to bring his love of music to the elderly. Recently he performed on August 28th, 2013 in a benefit concert for Bantay Bata 163 at the Philippine Center, in New York City to help the abused children of the Philippines. Jared Martin will be performing with The Legendary Bert Nievera as well as the Concert King, Martin Nievera, on December 21, 2013 at the Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Justin Binek
Justin Binek is the Head of Vocal Jazz Studies at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. An internationally renowned vocal jazz educator and performer, Justin's credits include presenting "The Ten Habits of Highly Effective Scat Singers" at the 2008 IAJE annual conference in Toronto, Ontario, the 2008 ISME World Conference in Bologna, Italy, and the 2013 Jazz Education Network Conference in Bologna, Italy.  In addition to his work at UArts, Justin is also a partner and permanent faculty member of the ProMusic Summer Camp and a member of the faculty at the Halewynstichting Jazz Camp in Dworp, Belgium.
