Background: Water! Water quality and water quantity. Water pollution, water for salmon, water for irrigation. Where does the buck stop in Washington State? Maia Bellon has a long history working on water issues and has recently taken the helm at the WA State Department of Ecology. Her agency is charged with both regulatory oversight and stewardship of our critical water resource. Ecology is a key player in efforts to recover Puget Sound and address critical issues in the Columbia River Basin and our coast. Director Bellon will describe her vision for the agency and her aims for working with the public.
