Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspections Certification

Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Certification Webinar on
June 18th & 19th, 2020. You must complete both days to receive your Certification.

This training is for participants looking to become Certified Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspectors. HQS standards spell out the minimum health and safety requirements housing units must meet before U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) assistance can be paid on behalf of a program participant. HUD programs such as Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), Continuum of Care (CoC), Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and others are bound by HQS.

Individuals working on grants/programs such as Rapid Rehousing, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Virginia Homeless Solutions Program (VHSP), Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), Virginia State Housing Trust Fund (VHTF) & Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) will find this training particularly useful.

Please note that this training is NOT for those seeking certification to conduct home inspections in conjunction with the home buying process.
