Free, healthy food from the park?! YES!
Join the Bay Ridge Food Co-op on a guided tour of Owl's Head Park with forager, committed locavore and Brooklyn Botanic Garden instructor, Leda Meredith.
Leda will teach us how to safely identify and harvest edibles in the urban terrain. We hope to find wild root vegetables like gobo and evening primrose; salad greens and edible flowers including Asiatic dayflower; fruits including hawthorn and crabapple; and wild seasonings including peppergrass and Northern bayberry.
We will meet at the entrance of Owl's Head Park on the corner of Colonial Road and 68th Street. The tour will begin promptly at 3pm, RAIN OR SHINE, so please plan on arriving a few minutes early.
