An Evening with Andy King at The Living Room at 35 East
Andy King's show on October 9 is sold out! We expect this show to sell out quickly as well. Tickets go on sale Monday, May 11 at 12:00 pm.
About Andy King:
Andy began his musical career while attending the University of Delaware, playing coffee shops and small clubs. After graduation he landed a gig as the bass player for the popular local band Jack of Diamonds. When that band broke up, he was asked to be a temporary bass player for the biggest band in the region, The Hooters.
Temporary turned into touring the country and the world from 1984 to 1988 as The Hooters sold millions of records. Andy co-wrote the song "Karla with a K" and sang a popular version of The Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Andy also produced local blues guitarist Tommy Conwell's debut album, which helped Conwell get signed to Columbia Records.
Andy left The Hooters to play his own music and was named Most Promising New Artist by the Philadelphia Music Alliance in 1989. After slugging away for a couple years, Andy stepped away from the music business. He ended up working in reality TV, producing shows and doing soundtrack music. He never stopped playing and recording, and recently he joined The Hooters' drummer David Uosikkinen's project In the Pocket.
Andy's show at The Living Room will be the first time in quite a while that he has performed solo acoustic where he will do originals and some cover songs that he wishes he had written.
