Susan Carpenter Education Day for Developmental Disabilties Mental Health
The second annual Dr. Susan Carpenter Education Day for Developmental Disabilities Mental Health is an opportunity for networking and education in the emerging field of developmental disabilities mental health. We are proud to present four speakers who are clinical and research leaders to highlight best clinical practice in this important part of health care. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Yona Lunsky, PhD from the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (Toronto).
"Bridging gaps to improve the mental health of adults with developmental disabilities". This full day conference also includes:
1. Dr. Shaily Singh, MD, FRCP Neurology at University of Calgary "Intellectual disability and Epilepsy"
2. Dr. John McLennan, MD, FRCP Child psychiatry at University of Calgary "Thinking dimensionally raises doubts about the usefulness of the Dual Diagnosis construct in developmental disabilities and mental health"
3. Dr. Chad Bousman, PhD, MPH (public health) Hotchkiss Brain Institute at University of Calgary "The use of pharmacogenetics testing in developmental disabilities"
This conference is accredited for 4 hours of category CME credit for Psychiatrists. Accreditation with College of Family Physicians of Canada is in progress.
