CITIZEN 865: The Hunt for Hitler's Hidden Soldiers in America

Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:00pm
Museum of Tolerance
9786 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035

The gripping story of a team of Nazi hunters at the U.S. Department of Justice as they raced against time to expose members of a brutal SS killing force who disappeared in America after World War II
In a basement archive in Prague, two American historians made a startling discovery: a Nazi roster from 1945 containing more than 700 names. It would help unravel the details behind the most lethal killing operation in World War II.
In the tiny Polish village of Trawniki, the SS set up a school for mass murder, recruiting 5,000 men to help annihilate the Jewish population of occupied Poland. After the war, some of these men vanished, blending into communities across America.

Citizen 865 provides a front row seat to the small group of American Nazi hunters at the Office of Special Investigations in the U.S. Department of Justice battling to expose members of a brutal SS killing force now living in America and hold them accountable for their unspeakable crimes.
Debbie Cenziper is a Pulitzer Prize winning Journalist and author. A contributing member of the Washington Post Investigative team and Director of Investigative Journalism at the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism.
A book sale and signing will follow the program.
