ACID TEST Experience

We dont want you to just watch Acid Test, we want you to experience it! A punk, black tie event supporting local activist filmmakers, empowerment and coming of age in the 90s. As the night progresses the venue will transform from a family dinner into the madness of a teenager.

Taking an aggressive view contrasting the traditional concept of a gala, the makers of Acid Test in collaboration with Outtahed Studios will give you an experience of nostalgia, live performance art and Riot Grrrrl music that loosely follows the script of the feature film.

Start your journey at a Family Dinner. The age old tension of generations ever present. There is a fight. Jenny runs to the bedroom crying. Sit with Jenny in tears. Console her. A friend calls, Are we still going out? I dont know. Her mother makes an executive decision despite her fathers wishes. Follow Jenny to the club, where her favorite band is playing. There are drugs, a struggle for independence, her mother showing up early and her psychedelic meltdown...

About ACID TEST: ACID TEST is an award-winning short film that is being adapted into a feature film! Brought to you by the Texas-based filmmaker Jenny Waldo based on her own absurd experience at 15. A dark comedy at its core, the heart of ACID TEST lies in the intimate moments found amidst the chaos of hallucinations, riot grrrl punk music, and the whirlwind of youth. The story walks a fine balance between the absurdity of things that happen in life along with the pain of growing up in an entertaining, emotional, and authentic ride.
