4-H Beginning Horsemanship Day
Spokane County 4-H Beginning Horsemanship Day Saturday, February 29th 2020 9am-2pm Busy Bee Ranch 14910 W. Craig, Spokane, WA Entry Deadline Feb. 17th
***Must age 8 years old as of October 1, 2020 to participate*** Registration is open at 8:00 - 8:45am. Late entries will be accepted.
Following are topics for the day: - Equine Farrier: Knowing your horses feet. - Basic Riding and Helmet Fitting - Grooming & Parts of a Horse - Tack and Tacking Up - Equine Veterinary Science: Equine Health 101
The Beginning Horsemanship Day will be filled with hands-on learning, equine information and FUN filled day for all ages. This event is dedicated to enrolled 4-H youth members that are beginner/novice riders and parents new to horses or horse kids. Are you in 4-H? The 4-H enrollment process is simple please contact the WSU-Extension Office 477-2160 for more details.
Boots and helmets are required. Horses will be provided for ground work and demonstration- riding will occur. Lunch is NOT provided. Parents are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. No drop-offs allowed.
This is also a great opportunity for teen 4-H members to apply their leadership skills, mastery and share their passion to other 4-H members(12-19 years). The 4-H Staff encourages every club to register at least 2 of their teen 4-Her's to this event.
