Nashville to Maine - Max Ater, Sarah Trunzo & Tiffany Williams
Born and raised on the coast of Southern Maine, award-winning singer/songwriter Max Ater took his home-state by storm with his story-driven music and powerful voice. He released his hit 5-track EP Small Town in 2018 and is currently performing throughout New England and Nashville.
Singer-songwriter Sara Trunzo was born in northern New Jersey, makes music in Nashville, Tennessee, and calls Unity, Maine her heartland. A farmer and community organizer until 3 years ago, she released a debut EP, Thanks Birdie in 2017 followed by an LP called Dirigo Attitude in 2019. The album reached #22 on the Folk Radio DJ chart. It benefits from the voices of Americana heavyweights Darrell Scott on Food and Medicine (which reached #3 on the Folk Radio DJ chart and garnered first place in the 2018 Maine Songwriters Association song competition), and Mary Gauthier, who is heard on In the Bend of the Cumberland (which reached #12 on the Folk Radio DJ chart). Her no-frills, no-nonsense lyrics cut to the bone of the struggles of people in the Northeast, women, and rural voices.
A coal miners daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter from Eastern Kentucky, Tiffany Williams lives in Nashville, where she writes songs and fiction. She received the 2011 Jean Ritchie Fellowship for Appalachian Writing and 2017 Denny C. Plattner Award for fiction. Her first album, When You Go, was released in January 2019 and reached No. 15 on the North American College and Community Radio Folk Chart and No. 12 on the Folk DJ Chart.
