Alash Ensemble in Concert, with special guest Shodekeh
Folklore Village will be presenting Alash Ensemble in concert on Sunday evening, March 8, 2020. The concert will feature the music of Tuva, a tiny republic in the heart of Central Asia. One of the distinctive features of this music is a vocal technique, commonly referred to as "throat-singing" in the west; in which several notes are produced at the same time, producing extraordinary whistling or buzzing overtones. To accompany this unusual vocal technique, Alash will be accompanying themselves on native Tuvan musical instruments such as the doshpuluur, the igil, and the shoor. Alash will be joined by special guest beat boxer, Shodekeh.
The concert will be presented on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at 7:00 pm.
