Tickets can be purchased 15 minutes prior to the start of the concert by cash or credit card (plus $1.05 processing fee) at the box office. Tickets are $20/general admission for the 7:30PM concerts & $15 for the 3PM concert. We look forward to seeing you at the theater.

MODArts Dance Collective (MADC) presents Collective Thread
MODArts Dance Collective (MADC) is pleased to present its fifth annual dance festival entitled Collective Thread on Friday, March 6, 2020 7:30 PM & Saturday, March 7, 2020 3 & 7:30 PM at Downtown Art, 70 E 4th Street, NY, NY 10003. The purpose of Collective Thread is to provide a voice and a platform for artistic self-impression to those women/womyn identifying choreographers of underrepresented ethnic groups within the medium of dance. The goal of Collective Thread is to imbue artists with the necessary tools to increase diversity and gender equality through leadership roles in the dance field.

The 2020 presenting artists on March 6 are Preya Patel/Vivarta Arts, Shekoya Gordon, Audrey Hubbard Madison/MoJazz Dance, Chatiera Ray/The CRay Project, LLC, Sahana Madabhushi /SnD Productions, Winter Bosanko/Winter Dance Projects, & Leah Tubbs/MADC.

The 2020 presenting artists on March 7 are Shachi Phene/Noor Dance Academy, Akane Koizumi & Yu Fujiwara/A&Y duo, Audrey Hubbard Madison/MoJazz Dance, Jenny Boissiere/DanceBoissiere, Andrea Smith/Revolutionary Artistic Productions, Allyson Ross/SouthernBelleStories, & Leah Tubbs/MADC.

The matinee concert on March 7 highlights new work created by the 2020 Collective Thread Residency Artists during their four week residency. The 2020 Collective Thread Residency Artists are Sofia Bengoa, Megan Curet, Shekoya Gordon, Sade Murray, Takiya Roebuck, Genesis Perdomo Santos, Andrea Smith, & Yasmin Venable.

Don't miss this weekend of women/womyn identifying choreographers of color letting their voices be heard through movement!
