Houses of Freedom: Black History Tour
Hear the stories, and experience how the "black church" has stood as an institution to build community, family, justice, and freedom.
Black churches were a major achievement of the Reconstruction era.
Black churches have assumed a leadership role in the Civil Rights Movement.
Black churches have served as a link between Black and white communities.
DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh brings you inside some of the most significant black churches in Pittsburgh: Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh, St. Benedict the Moor Church, and Brown Chapel AME Church.
Tour start promptly at 9:45am at: 91 Crawford St, Pgh Pa 15219

This is a bus tour.
The bus and many of the tour stops are not wheelchair accessible.
Restrooms will be available at 1-2 stops.
We will have 45-50 minutes at each stop.
