The Tannahill Weavers released their first album in 1976, and ever since have been one of Scotland's premier traditional bands. Their diverse repertoire spans the centuries with fire-driven instrumentals, topical songs, and original ballads and lullabies. Their music demonstrates to old and young alike the rich and varied musical heritage of the Celtic people. These versatile musicians have received worldwide accolades consistently over the years for their exuberant performances and outstanding recording efforts that seemingly can't get better...yet continue to do just that. Added to the show, one of the dynamic young New England bands with a core Scottish connection, Fresh Haggis a dynamic new band formed of some of the finest young up-and-coming musicians on the Boston Celtic-music scene. Composed of border piper/singer Elias Alexander, guitarist Eamon Sefton, fiddler Kathleen Parks and flute player Patrick Bowling, the group celebrates the continued vibrancy of the Scottish and Irish musical traditions through youthful, passionate arrangements of songs and tunes, featuring many original compositions within the style. They recently released their debut album, entitled Bywater.

The Burren Backroom series is now well established as one of the most sought-after boutique series of trad presentation in the world. It has already created already dozens of memorable, intimate, informal presentations held in a truly atmospheric space which was founded by well-known traditional musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts.
Hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, these gatherings feature core performers from many aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music. As is the custom of the Burren, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessions will be a feature.
