ViVoce, Portland's only women's world music group, announces So Wide a River, two winter concerts featuring music about the rivers of the earth and their power to provide life-sustaining food and water, transport us into the arms of our loved ones or to new places and experiences, and sometimes, act as a roaring, raging barrier to life, liberty, and happiness.
The February performances will include music from Romania, Czechoslovakia, Macedonia, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria, North America, Renaissance Italy, and the Shapenote tradition, and more.
