Brookdale On Broadway, Musical Theatre Classes, enrollment capped at 25
Varsity Classes, grades 3-6-Tuesdays Jan 14-April 3, $180 per child
Junior Varsity Classes, grades k-2 - Thursdays Jan 14 - April 3, $180 per child
Acclaimed TV & Stage Actress/Singer Lauren Hooper joins us as Director/Choreographer, to guide students on a Performing Arts journey of discovery!! Students will learn to hone their talents and stage presence through theatre games and performance/audition techniques while preparing group Musical Theatre numbers. Students will be learning and performing in a Class Feature and the Opening and Closing numbers of the showcase, and are encouraged but not required to prepare solo or small group pieces on their own time. Highlights of participating in these classes include the opportunity to work with choreography and song, gain confidence, stretch their skills in a supportive environment and use what they learn to perform for family and friends in a Brookdale on Broadway showcase performance! T-shirts provided at no extra charge.
IMPROVed Play! , enrollment capped at 12
Varsity, Grades K-6 Wednesdays, $180 per child
Come and play! Learn the basic foundations of improv through energetic and interactive games led by an NJ/NYC based Comedian, and member of the Applied Improvisation Network, Megan Sweet. Based on the "Yes..., and" principle, basic scene work and character work, this class helps young learners demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with positive acceptance of each other's ideas. Improv has been shown to help students with active listening, self confidence, public speaking, social support, mindfulness and so much more! These skills are transferable into the classroom, community activities and home. Students need no prior experience to attend, and the only requirement is to have FUN!
NEW THIS YEAR, is our IMPROVed Play ensemble class will perform TheatreSports Improv games for the Brookdale on Broadway show!! T-shirts provided at no extra charge.

Paper Trails
Wednesdays, grades k-6, $85 per child
PaperTrailsNJ will provide hand designed paper craft projects for each student! Choose from the following project ideas: Design and decorate a handmade book written by us - Rodgie the Hodgie Goes to Hawaii (a hedgehogs adventure to Hawaii), Winter Themed Diorama, Pennant Name Banner with School Mascot, DIY Valentines, All About Me Vision Board, Design Your Grammy Outfit, and Decorative Winter Box with Penguins and Snowflakes. Its sure to be creative and FUN!
Comic Book Creation
Thursdays, grades 2-6, $85 per child
Calling all graphic novel comic, and comic book fans! If you love art and storytelling, this class is for you. Create your own comics and have a blast in this exciting cartooning class. Youll draw and learn professional secrets from the syndicated cartoonist of Heathcliff, Peter Gallagher.
INSTRUMENTAL ARTS CLASSES
Bucket Drumming
Tuesdays grades k-6, $75 per child
Do you love playing percussion instruments? Brookdale's (Bucket Drumming) Percussion Ensemble , directed by Ms. Chimento, provides opportunities to learn new music, interact with friends through drumming games, as well as improvise and create music! There are also opportunities for basic drum choreography and visuals! Become a founding member and you can be the start of something Brookdale has never seen before! Parent/Guardian class observation will be allowed during the final 15 minutes of the last class. RSVP will be required.
ATHLETIC CLASSES
Cheerleading
Wednesdays, Grades k-6, $75 per child
Do you like to jump, dance & shout ? Do u have spirit?! Well, lets HEAR it!! Come on out & learn a variety of Bloomfield cheers & moves from a former BHS Cheerleader, and a current beloved Brookdale Teacher, Ms. Testa. All students of the proper grades are welcome!
Yoga/Mindfulness
Wednesdays, Grades 1-6, $75 per child
This class will help encourage and enhance mindfulness practices and engage students in yoga with the intention to promote compassion, attention, adaptability, and resilience. This six week session taught by our very own Brookdale teacher, Ms. Rodgers, will walk your child through the importance of mindful breathing, yoga positions, stretching, and other tactics to live a more stress free life! Bring a towel or yoga mat to make the experience extra comfortable.

Harry Potter STEM
Thursdays grades k-6, $85 per child, Instructed by Montclair Learning Center
Calling all muggles to the Wonderful World of Wizardry! Design and build your own blinking magic wand, catapult to launch snitches, mix up potions and use an invisible cloak in Minecraft. Science can make magic! Instructed by the Montclair Learning Center.
3,2,1 ... Blast Off!
Tuesdays grades k-2, $85 per child Instructed by Montclair Learning Center
Every week, we will explore our galaxies and prepare for our mission to the moon. We will learn about the
planets and create our own solar system. Then we will travel through the stars and create our own constellations and build our own telescopes. The moon will be our next step as we learn the phases of the moon. We will then grow through astronaut training and we will build our own rocket out everyday materials!
