Hofesh Shechter Companys Spring Professional Intensive
We invite you to join us for our first 5-day intensive course of 2020, where we delve into one of Hofesh's most iconic works, Political Mother (2010) as we celebrate its 10th birthday. With the new Shechter II adaptation, Political Mother Unplugged, premiering in the spring, this is a chance to come and learn more about the piece its origins, themes and characters - before catching it live on stage. Join us as we awaken connections within the body, tap into our emotional connection to the rich repertoire of this extraordinary piece, and explore a sense of belonging.
This is a unique opportunity to explore in depth the fundamental principles of Hofesh's distinct dance vocabulary, and work within a visceral and thrilling environment.
The week will be led by dancers from the original cast of Political Mother, and Associate Director Bruno Guillore.
This Spring Intensive will have two sessions and are open to professional dancers, teachers and dance students on vocational courses.
The morning session is open to a maximum of 25 people who are new to Hofesh's work, but would like to explore Hofesh's repertoire and dance language.
Alternatively, the afternoon session is open to a maximum of 25 people who have taken an Intensive course with us in the past and are looking to enrich their practice and training.*
We deliberately keep the numbers of our Intensives low in order to ensure this personal feedback as you immerse yourself in the working style of the company.
