James Hubbell - Between Heaven and Earth
James Hubbell - Between Heaven and Earth tells James Hubbell's story of making and using art to change the world. Included are some of James' seminal career moments, The Doors of Abu Dhabi, the Sea Ranch Chapel, and Pacific Rim Park. He has used creativity throughout his life to solve problems, and in doing so, has left a lasting legacy of beauty and creativity for us all. The film goes into depth about the reason for building the Chapel at The Sea Ranch as a memorial to Kirk Ditzler. It was the Buffums who paid for the building of this nondominational Chapel. There are interviews with the builder, Thamby Kumaran and one of the craftmen, Bruce Johnson. The film makers will introduce the film at the showing and some of the craftsmen might also be present. This feature length film will be screened at Del Mar Hall on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3pm. The showing of the film is co-sponsored by the Archives Committee and the Sea Ranch Chapel Foundation. Admission is free but reservations must be made through Brown Paper Tickets as seating is limited.
