Six of the Coachella Valleys finest actors present a staged reading of Paula Vogels award winning- play, How I Learned to Drive. Winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, How I Learned to Drive chronicles the story of a teenage girl, Lil Bit, and her complicated sexual relationship with the husband of her aunt, Uncle Peck. The association that began in Lil Bits pre-adolescence continues through her teenage years and the start of college. Using driving lessons as a metaphor, Playwright Paula Vogel somehow manages to weave dark humor and even tenderness amidst the disturbing motifs of pedophilia, incest, and the precarious status of women and girls.
