Fire Investigators find Marijuana in Thomas' bedroom and also a gun in his book-bag. Police ask Thomas how he manages to own 27 pair of new Tennis-shoes, with no after school job.
Thomas is arrested for Man-slaughter of his little cousin. While in jail, a career-criminal befriends Thomas. When out on bail, his mother notices a change in her son. This career-criminal had shared a better way of life for Thomas. Patty becomes impressed with Thomas, and falls in love with him.
Patty wants Marie to confess Thomas is innocent of Man-slaughter, but Marie refuses and threatens to expose Patty's enterprises. But Thomas falls in love with Patty and forgives her past life-style. Patty declares to be faithful, but chooses to allow Marie to confess to her Sibling.

Later a 12 year old boy dies from drugs Thomas sold to him, all before his new life. The older brother of the 12 year old is also the boyfriend of Marie, and he gets a gun to kill Thomas. Marie invents a plan that spares Thomas, but kidnaps Patty for a $1000 ransom. Thomas sacrifices himself for his girl.
Patty is almost killed, but the plan back-fires. During school, Patty and Thomas are humiliated for their new life-style. A few students admire them, but Marie just doesn't get-it. The play ends with Thomas & Patty forgiving Marie. [Lights & Music]
