Intensive Yiddish Dance Workshop With Zev Feldman
Master dancer, and pioneering klezmer musician and scholar Walter Zev Feldman leads a special 2 hour workshop for participants to learn and practice the traditional gestures and body language of Yiddish Dance, and begin to develop a personalized expressive style. Special attention will be paid to the interplay of dance and music (with sensitivity to musical genre, tempo and melodic phrasing), as well as interactions between dancers. Instrumentalists are encouraged to attend! Feldman will be joined by theater professional/choreographer Yehuda Hyman. Live music will be provided by Zilien Biret (clarinet) and Christina Crowder (accordion).
