Guys and Dolls
GUYS AND DOLLS is often considered the perfect musical for its lean storytelling, rich characters, and irresistible tunes. Set in Damon Runyons mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy features a motley crew of eccentric gamblers, do-gooders, crooks, and cops. Nathan Detroit, organizer of the oldest craps game in town, bets high-roller Sky Masterson that he cant make the next girl he sees fall in love with him. This girl turns out to be Miss Sarah Brown, an upright, uptight mission worker out to reform the evildoers of Times Square. The gamblers and do-gooders are thrown together with hilarious consequences, and everyone sees things a little differently in the end.
