A Shakespeare Playground is designed as a fun and engaging class for people who want to break through that 'Shakepeare aura.' Do you sing and dance, but trip your feet over iambic pentameter? Do endless monologues bewilder? Does Shakespeare give any clues?
Three different threads will be used to unravel these and other mysteries:
1. playful ensemble work, explorations of visual imagery, games, and other entertainments;
2. A bit of structured study using techniques to recognize and practice common grammar and syntax tools Shakespeare often employs;
3. Monologue and scene work.

This class is for:
Actors, non-actors, musical theater geniuses who are worried about Shakespearean verse; community theater actors who want to develop their skills, former English majors who miss the excitement of a well turned metaphor... basically, adults who are interested in exploring Shakespeare's rich imagery and language play!
TINNE ROSENMEIER is a seasoned theater teacher and actress working in the Twin Cities area. A Shakespeare Playground showcases Tinne's expertise in Shakespearean performance and analysis through her extensive classroom practice. Tinne holds an MA in Educational Theater from New York University; BA, English Literature, Carleton College, and earned a certificate from the National Shakespeare Conservatory in NYC. She received her Education training at Hamline University, and recently retired following thirteen years teaching dance and theater in Minnesota public schools.
Recent roles include Gonzalo in The Tempest with Cromulent Shakespeare, and Melanie in Handled at The Wildwood Theatre. Shakespeare performances include Polonia in "Hamlet" at Park Square Theater, and Aemelia in "The Comedy of Errors" with Classical Actors Ensemble.
Participants are welcome to bring material for coaching and feedback. Dress for movement.
