This month's Tablao Artichoke features special guest tocaor Mark Ferguson! Joining him are Espacio Flamenco dancers Lillie Last, Christina Lorentz, and Nela McGuire and cantaora Randa BenAziz. Mark your calendars for an exhilarating evening of flamenco.
Mark Ferguson began studying the flamenco guitar in 1995 and spent two years in Spain focusing on the art of flamenco song and dance accompaniment. Mark said, In Spain I came to understand that the flamenco guitar exists as an accompaniment instrument, and that to be a successful flamenco guitarist means developing an intimate relationship with singing and dancing.
Tablao Artichoke is presented by Espacio Flamenco and Artichoke Music. The project aims to create space for regular flamenco performances in Portland in an intimate tablao setting.
