Queer Queens of Qomedy in San Antonio
Poppy Champlin brings her high energy Q3 back to Texas. This six-city tour goes from Dallas to Austin to Fort Worth to San Antonio and Houston and finishing up in Plano TX. Champlin knows Texas is politically charged right now and is Red Hot, but Queer is everywhere, and thats where we go. This is our fourth time through Texas and we are always well received. Champlin did say one Christian columnist wrote about the show and remarked That the show was a good one too bad they were all going to Hell. Poppy is a pro and it shows she has appeared on Showtime, LOGO, VH-1, Comedy Central, Oprah, and won the title of Americas Funniest Real Woman on The Joan Rivers Show. She is currently the emcee at Rhode Islands local summer stock theatre, Theatre-By-The-Sea. The longstanding reigning Queen Sandra Valls is from Laredo. Valls is a tornado of power and might. Sandra was voted by Latina and Curve Magazines as one of the top ten funniest and badass comics to watch out for. She has appeared on two Showtime specials, Latin Divas of Comedy, and Pride: The Gay and Lesbian Comedy Slam, as well as having appearances on Comics Unleashed and BETs Comic View. Vickie Shaw is from Texas where she says, The speed limit is a suggestion. Vickie is a veteran comic who was part of Comedy Centrals flagship show Premium Blend she also has a one-hour comedy special on LOGO called You Can Take The Girl Out of Texas! Vickies been working ton Olivia cruises. She grabs ya by the grits and shakes ya to your southern roots. Family is a recurring theme for Vickie and all her comedy is immediately relatable and hilarious. An extra added comedian is Jade Esteban Estrada and the Live Oak singers.
