When You Tell the Moon About Gravity
12 young actors take the stage this weekend at The Chameleon Theater in the new show, When You Tell the Moon About Gravity. Written and directed by sisters, Phina and Sophie Pipia, the show features original music and choreography by the duo.

Set during the Italian renaissance, the show follows a young Leonardo DaVinci as he begins to experiment with gravity. Using dance, song, shadow play, puppetry, and poetry; the musical paints a vivid picture of a young person on the edge of discovery, lit by the fire of creativity.

As the adventure unfolds, DaVinci and a motley collection of characters overcome unexpected hurdles to remain friends; promising for an evening of fun, fancy, laughter, and wonder.

Were absolutely wowed by the young actors in this show, says writer and co-director, Phina Pipia, each performer has brought a huge amount of enthusiasm, insight, and talent to the rehearsal process and production, and has made this new musical a true inspiration to create and to watch.

The Pipias work has been hailed as "Impossible to resist" by the Montreal Gazette and "Gorgeously imaginative" by Montreals The Visitorium. They have produced musicals in New York City and abroad, and are excited to bring this newest work to the stage.

The musical was developed throughout a weeklong theater workshop. Each young actor spent five hours each day studying lines and developing a character, learning music and dance, and honing their theater skills.

The workshop and production are intended as opportunities for local youth to find a rewarding, supportive theater experience, says Sophie Pipia, We want young performers to come away knowing what it means to launch an original production, and feeling empowered and inspired by the creative process.

The show is appropriate for all ages and features witty song and dance numbers that will leave you humming and smiling all night long.
