Join us at Jersey City Ballrooms 3rd Annual Dance Congress! Were looking forward to this fantastic event of specialty workshops, showcases and heats.
Please contact Jersey City Ballroom directly to inquire about competition heats and solo entries. Dance Congress entry required in order to participate in heats and showcases. $129 early bird before August 31st, regular $149.
Schedule of Events:
-9:45am-10:45am: Doors Open, Breakfast Served
-10:45am-11:30am: American Smooth/International Standard: "How to Create Volume in Your Dancing" by Denise Sobiewski, Washington Open Smooth Champion
-11:35am-12:20pm: Technique & Alignement: "Applying Ballet Principles for Ballroom" by JoVonna Parks, Ballet Mistress and Soloist for Elise Monte Dance Company
-12:25pm-1:10pm: Specialty Styles: "Hustle and Body Movement" by Kelvin and Lori Ann Greenhouse-Roche, 9-Time Hustle World Champions
-1:15pm-2:00pm: International Latin/American Rhythm: "Partnering" by Andrei Gavriline, 3-Time US Pro Latin Champion, Blackpool RS Pro Latin Champions, Blackpool Open Latin Finalist
-2:00pm-3:00pm: Lunch and Dance Social with Live Music
-3pm-6pm: Performance time! Showcases and competition heats adjudicated by Andrei Gavriline, 3-Time US Professional Latin Champion and Blackpool Professional Latin Finalist. Showcases will receive written feedback. Showcases and heats will be judge separately in 5 different categories including Best Execution, Best Musicality and Most Fun to Watch.
