The River Clyde Pageant: In the Wake of the Tale
In the Wake of the Tale expands upon the previous year's Pageant with new stories and spectacle on the land and water. Inspired by the writing of Mary Oliver, Mi'kmaq worldview, and the eternal cycles of creation, life, and death, the Pageant calls on us to pay attention to our connections to the natural world and to each other as a first step in protecting and growing those relationships.

There are five performances of the Pageant, July 27-28 and August 2, 3, 4 at 8pm. Audience members must reserve tickets online prior to the performances. No tickets are sold at the door.

The River Clyde Pageant is ADMISSION BY DONATION. You can donate when booking tickets on our online reservation system, or you can donate onsite before and after the performances.

RESPECT THE RESERVATION: a new policy in 2019
We ask that you observe the following requests to respect our efforts to keep the Pageant accessible to as many people as possible:

1. Please do not overbook tickets. Book the number of tickets you know you can use, for the performance date(s) you know you can attend.

2. If you have booked tickets and can no longer attend the performance, or the number of people in your party has decreased, you have two options:
--> Return your tickets via Brown Paper Tickets (this is easiest for us!)
--> Email us at least 24 hours before the performances, at riverclydepageant@gmail.com. We will happily offer your ticket(s) to someone on our waitlist.

3. If you book tickets and you or members of your party no-show without making an effort to let us know beforehand, we will place strict limitations on the number of tickets you can book to future Pageant events in 2019/2020.

Thank you for helping us ensure our admission-by-donation ticket policy is respected.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE PERFORMANCE:

The Pageant begins with the audience seated on the hillside of The Little Victory Microfarms, facing the River Clyde. Guided by performers, the audience moves closer to the river at two points during the show. Audience members should bring picnic blankets to sit on. The seating area is on a slope, so a blanket is best. Some chairs will be available for those with mobility issues, sight or hearing limitations.

Runtime is approximately 80 minutes.

Each nights performance concludes with a sit-down dinner in a field on the site. Food will be prepared by Chef Emily Wells and the staff at The Mill Restaurant, and served buffet-style. The meal will have vegetarian and gluten-free options. There will also be a cash bar with beer and wine for purchase.

We are aiming to make this a zero-waste meal, and therefore we ask audience members to bring their own cutlery, cups and plates.

This is a very family-friendly event. Please do not bring your dogs or other pets.

ARRIVAL & PARKING:
Plan to arrive in New Glasgow by 7:30pm to allow time for parking & walking to the Pageant site.  Attendants will guide you to parking spots and direct you to the Box Office at Little Victory Microfarms, 2765 New Glasgow Road. We encourage audience members to carpool if possible!

There are multiple options for parking. Parking is NOT available at The Mill or the Preserve Company but IS available at the following locations:
--> Upper lot at The Gardens of Hope (on Route 224)
--> 2865 New Glasgow Road
--> Highfield Construction (across from The Mill on Route 13)

The performance begins promptly at 8:00pm.

WEATHER:
If it rains, The River Clyde Pageant cannot take place. We will email attendees by 5:30pm if it looks like we have to cancel the show. If you dont hear from us, that means the show is going ahead.

Wear appropriate clothing for evening outdoor weather. Bug spray is recommended

ACCESSIBILITY:
While the show is seated, arrival to the Pageant site requires a good deal of walking outdoors on uneven ground. Because of this, the Pageant is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. However, we can provide assistance getting to and from the Pageant site from the Box Office with a golf cart shuttle. If you have limited mobility and have questions about accessing the site email us and we'll do our best to help you out: riverclydepageant@gmail.com
