Ellipsis
Art is an intimate conversation between artist and audience. In dance, the conversation is fleeting. No depiction of the event can truly capture what transpires between dancer and audience in the moment. You have to be there.
This year, Body & Soul Dance Theatre celebrates 37 years of conversations and relationships sparked by performance: choreographer to dancer, dancer to dancer, and dancer to audience. In Ellipsis, we celebrate the art of dance. We will tell our story in the whispered brush of pointed feet leaving the floor, in the impact of a passionate embrace, the unfurling of outstretched arms and the silence that precedes the first chord. We will tell the evolution of our company in the movements and songs that have shaped our Body & Soul. Our history marks the artistry of every dancer in the company, whether they have been with us for a season or a decade. On August 10th, 2019, we invite you to join us as we tell the story of our family, of Body & Soul, past, present and future.
